Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
How are transactions carried out?
Technology has made the process a great deal more fast moving, but the basic principles of dealing in shares have not changed this century. The basic principle is that of an open market, where the price of a share rises or falls until it arrives at a price at which one client is prepared to buy and another is prepared to sell.
High demand forces the price upwards, low demand sends it downwards.
Demand in a company's shares can be triggered by good results, takeover rumours or anything which investors perceive will make this stock more valuable in future.
